So it's Sunday night - what I consider the end of the week. Somehow, Sundays tend to be productive days for me. (as long as I don't stay up too late on saturday night!)
Today, I got a bunch of stuff done... Most of it was in my head or on paper rather than physical accomplishment.
First, I actually made myself exercise and stretch before I took my shower. I keep saying I'm trying to get in the habit, but then it never materializes. Today however, I did 15 pullups, 25 pushups, and 50 situps. I followed that up with some stretching and then my shower. It's not much, I know, but it's a start. If I can start doing that everyday (1/2 hr) then I'll be satisfied. I might start running in the mornings... Just around the neighborhood, just to stay trim. Somehow the biking doesn't get rid of my gut - though, I'll admit, I need to eat better.
I also made some headway on my career path - I looked up all the computer certifications that will help me get a job in IT. I'm thinking that's where I would like to be but I don't know precisely where just yet. The tests/certifications/study guides aren't cheap but they're educational and as long as I follow through with the studying/testing, I think it will be money well spent.
I had ribs at my mom's house for dinner... mmm... tasty tasty. Then I put registration stickers on both of my car's license plates and an apple sticker on my M3. I finally picked up my labeler from my garage and straightened up around there for a few mins. I might do a little filing tonight before reading and going to bed early.
My head has been feeling weird all day... maybe it's allergies/meds/caffeine - who knows? I'm going to read a bit before bed, as well. I haven't been reading as much as I'd like to have been. I got stuck in the middle of like 3-4 boring books at once... so that pretty much meant that I haven't read in a while. I'm starting to make headway and finishing off some of the stragglers!
Currently I'm in the middle of:
The Te of Piglet
Lila by Robert Pirsig (author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance)
The Antichrist - Nietzsche
The Art of War - Sun Tzu
Getting Things Done - David Allen - yes, the GTD!
Visual Basic for Dummies - I know, I know... why?
Libra - Don DeLillo
I think that's about it... I'm sure the list will get longer before it gets shorter!
well that's the TGD update of the week. Maybe I post will a little more regularity! Who knows!
